Colin Trevorrow Out as 'Star Wars: Episode IX' Director

It's the latest helmer shake-up on a Lucasfilm title.

Colin Trevorrow is no longer directing Star Wars: Episode IX, Lucasfilm said Tuesday.

"Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process, but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon," read a Lucasfilm statement.

Rumors of Trevorrow's departure have dogged the project since early June, weeks before the opening of The Book of Henry, his thriller that was panned by critics and failed at the box office.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that script issues have continued to be a sore spot throughout Episode IX's development, with Trevorrow having repeated stabs at multiple drafts. In August, Jack Thorne, the British scribe who wrote the upcoming Julia Roberts-Jacob Tremblay movie Wonder, was tapped to work on the script.......

Jackie Chan, Justin Theroux and More Get Animated for 'Lego Ninjago Movie' Premiere

The Regency Village Theatre was decked out with life-sized caricatures on Saturday afternoon.

Bright yellow, Lego-shaped foam fingers cheered on animated ninja warriors at the L.A. premiere ofThe Lego Ninjago Movie this week. 
Fans joined the voice cast including Jackie Chan, Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Olivia Munn, Abbi Jacobson and Fred Armisen to celebrate the upcoming Lego film. Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara and president worldwide marketing and distribution Sue Kroll were in attendance, plus stars such as Tori Spelling, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Joel McHale also showed their support by bringing their children to the premiere. 
Prior to the premiere, director Charlie Bean told The Hollywood Reporter about how he added his own creativity to a beloved toy he grew up with. “It’s not just a toy that you play with. You can build and add your own creativity to it," Bean said. "It challenges us and pushes our own creativity and how we build, and I think that never goes away. When I first came back into this film I went back and got a bunch of Legos and was like ‘this is still really fun.’”.......

'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Director Rian Johnson to Appear at IrelandWeek

The director will take part in a discussion about filming on the west coast of Ireland.

Director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman will talk about filming Star Wars: The Last Jedi on the west coast of Ireland during IrelandWeek, which will be held in Los Angeles from Oct. 16-21.

As part of the inaugural week-long event promoting trade and cultural relastions between the U.S. and Ireland, Connect353, the conference component of the program, will take place Oct. 18-19 at LA Live Regal Theater in downtown Los Angeles, with Johnson and Bergman appearing on Oct. 19.......

 Sources say that the working relationship between Trevorrow and Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy became unmanageable. Kennedy, who had already been through one director firing/replacement on the Han Solo spinoff movie, was not eager for a sequel and tried to avoid this decision.........
