There’s a new Spider-Man in town. OK, if you’ve been following Marvel Comics recently, then you’ll know there are several new Spider-Men, those from the alternate realities of the Spider-Verse and those from stories outside of continuity and alternate Earths yet to be named and numbered. But the Spider-Man who demands today’s attention is Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099. While not new to Marvel Comics by any means, the fan-favorite character is literally the new kid of the block following his fall through time in The Amazing Spider-Man No. 25, where he landed on........

A.R. Rahman enthralls everyone at Busan Film Festival with his Live Performance

Musical maestro A.R. Rahman, director Vishewesh Krishnamorthy and Ehan Bhat are in Busan for the screening of  their upcoming movie : 99 Songs at Busan International Film Festival.

Rehman performed live to the music of 99 Songs which left the audience spellbound. The team walked  the red carpet and also took a selfie with over 3500 audience present. 


Directed by Vishewesh Krishnamoorthy, 99 Songs introduces Bollywood with a fresh new face, Ehan Bhatt in a passionate love story with music as it's soul. 
Presented by Jio Studios, the film is produced by A.R.Rahman's production company YM Movies and co-produced by Ideal Entertainment.

Busan: Jury Head Mike Figgis Talks Korean Cinema Past and Present, Demands of the Role

On his first visit to the South Korean festival, the Oscar-nominated director will preside over the New Currents section jury.

There’s a distinct focus on the future at the 24th edition of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), even in a year in which the Korean cinema industry has been celebrating its past.
In total this year, BIFF is presenting the current work of 13 directors who have previously been in the running for the festival’s main New Currents award, including its 2015 winner Yerlan Nurmukhambetov (Walnut Tree), who’s latest production The Horse Thieves. Roads of Time, co-directed by Japan’s Lisa Takeba, opened this 24th edition of the festival Thursday.........

'Minori, on the Brink': An unusual take on confrontation

The Japanese, it’s often remarked, try to avoid the sort of extreme, in-your-face confrontation more common in the West. A road rage incident became national news here recently because its violence — one party punching the other in the face through an open car window — seemed so rare.
What then to make of Minori (Minori Hagiwara), the laser-eyed protagonist of Ryutaro Ninomiya’s film “Minori, on the Brink”? Early on, we are introduced to two louche guys, Kei (Keitoku Ito) and Chihiro (Koutatsu Terabayashi), chatting about a recent konpa (mixer), as their chubby blonde acquaintance, Hirose (Yuki Hirose), listens. Two girls show up — and one, Minori, is steaming mad over Kei’s sexist behavior towards her nervously smiling friend Rieko (Rieko Dote) at the konpa. She kicks him, he pushes her and she shouts out “rape.” We are, we realize, not in another Japanese film where women stoically endure abuse from men.........
